Our Mission
The mission of the Mountain Home Parks & Recreation Department is to provide meaningful leisure opportunities and safe recreation facilities that will enhance the quality of life in our city by benefiting the health and well being of our people, our community, our economy, and our environment.

SPRING SOCCER

DEADLINE - MARCH 2ND


Soccer is the biggest program Parks & Recreation offers and for a GOOD reason; the kids love it!  The way we approach our sports programs puts a large emphasis on developing fundamentals and creating a great atmosphere that will leave the kids excited about continuing sports.  Teams will be assigned to a volunteer coach who will have the opportunity to practice for two weeks before the season starts on April 7th then games will be held at Legacy Park on Saturday mornings (possible Friday evening games for uneven leagues) with practices continuing on evenings chosen by the volunteer coaches. 

Leagues are broken up as follows: 

4&5 Co-ed, 6&7 boys, 6&7 girls, 8&9 boys, 8&9 girls, 10-12 boys, 10-12 girls.

Cost:  $19.50 (includes game shirt) Registration Deadline:  March 2nd

SPRING BREAK 

KIDS PROGRAM

“Let us take ‘engage’ your kids during spring break”


What are you going to do with the kids during spring break?  Unless you are going on a family trip, you may need some help with the kids during spring break while you are at work?  Let us take care of your kids during spring break and we will be sure to send them home tired!  Our daily program includes trips to various destinations that are sure to WOW your child and keep their interest level up.  Let your kids take a break from school and keep active with our spring break kids program!

Tentative Schedule:

Monday March 26th - Jump Time, Lunch @ Taco Bell & Movie Theater for G or PG viewing

Tuesday March 27th - Wahooz; Bowling, Laser Tag, Arcade Fast Track, Bumper Boats & Pizza

Wednesday March 28th - Boise Zoo, Lunch @ Idaho Pizza Company, and skating at the Nampa Roller Drome

Thursday March 29th - Build -A-Bear, Lunch at the Mall food court & arcade fun @ Pojo’s

Friday March 30th - Planet Kid; Inflatables, Rock climbing wall & indoor playground, Pizza for lunch and Blue Cow Frozen Yogurt


Cost:  $32.50 per day or $125.00 for all 5 days  (both plans Include all listed meals, entrance fees and transportation)

Lets Speak Spanish

This is a Spanish course intended for students with no previous knowledge of the spanish language which emphasizes oral communication in a variety of topics at a basic level. In addition, this course provides the development of listening, reading and writing skills. This class will be taught by a native Spanish speaker. So Let's Speak Spanish!

Days:  Monday & Wednesdays Dates:  Feb 13 to March 7th  Time:  7pm to 8pm  Location:  Parks & Recreation  Cost:  $35.00  Ages:  13+

Chinese Crash Course

This course is designed for students with little or no previous knowledge of the language.  It provides basic training on pronunciation and tones, commonly used vocabulary, sentence patterns for day-to-day life and need to know vocabulary for travel.  The goal is to lay a good foundation for further Chinese study, but mainly for a basic understanding and the ability to have basic conversations with Chinese speakers as well as to feel comfortable traveling around Asia.  No materials required, a small packet will be given to each person.


Days:  Tuesday & Thursdays  Dates:  Feb 7th to March 1st  Time:  7:30pm to 8:45pm  Location:  Parks & Recreation  Cost:  $30.00  Ages:  15+  Instructor:  Tawny Hoskin
